Everyone has a story, and I am taking this opportunity to tell you who I am, what I do, and my philosophy behind it. I am Real Estate agent with 10 years of experience in the South Florida housing market and 20 years of experience in the financial and operations sectors in Colombia. When I first moved to the U.S. over 15 years ago, I spent most of my time caring for my daughters, being a foster parent, learning a new language, and being a volunteer for the public school system. Today I continue to be deeply committed to my role as a mother, a wife, a friend, and volunteer as well as real estate agent that embraces every learning opportunity to keep rising.
Why did decide to become a realtor?
In Colombia my experience came from my leadership within a large service corporation, but when I moved the U.S. I was keen to test different opportunities where I could apply my expertise and still have the freedom to manage my own schedule and spend more time with family. I obtained my real estate license when the market dropped. I was often asked why I wanted to become a realtor if so many were leaving the industry, but I was set in pursuing this path regardless. I knew (and expected) that there would always be high and low points, yet this was my opportunity to learn from the existing conditions and move ahead with new clients and sale territories. The market conditions during this time led me to study and specialize in Short Sales. I can confidently say that 99% of my listings closed successfully to the benefit of my clients, with the most gratifying experience being the moment I could share with my clients the loan approval letter-symbolic of the opportunity for a fresh start.
Information is power, which is why my philosophy is to always stay current and willing to learn. I pass on this thinking onto my clients. When working with a client for the first time I find it critical to program a kick-off meeting, preferably in person, to learn how the client communicates their needs and expectations. I also like to schedule additional "coaching meetings" to inform and prepare clients for the different stages of buying, selling, and renting real estate. As a realtor it is my responsibility to guide the client throughout the entire process and give insight into all the professionals and entities that will directly intervene in the transaction. Investment in Real Estate can be one of the most valuable undertakings. For this reason I make sure that we engage as a team and establish a clear direction and communication strategy that will lead us to a successful closing.
I hope these words offer some insight into my work ethic, but even so, I much prefer my future clients to hear about my skill set and personal qualities from my past clients. Many of them have authorized me to share their contact information so that you can freely hear about their experience working with me. Most of my business transactions come from referrals and written recommendations that describe me as reliable, trusting, honest, knowledgeable, reachable, and offering great customer service.
